mmmmm, red velvet
The hill country of central Texas is one of my favorite places. We went there a lot when I was growing up, so the sights and smells, the humidity, the barbeque....it all makes me nostalgic. I love that we have family there, and therefore a reason to visit once or twice a year.
This time, it was to celebrate Ricky's sister's graduation from physical therapy school.
She's worked so hard, and we're so proud of her! First in the family to get her doctorate. She's going to be a great PT.
Other highlights from the weekend included:
- a visit to Zilker Park to ride the train, and the Austin Children's Museum, where Nicky played with lots of fun gadgets and exhibits.
- lunch at Whole Foods. We were seriously overwhelmed by the choices! I think if we had a Whole Foods here I would spend way too much money there.
- dinner at the Salt Lick-really, really good barbeque!
- a quick visit with some old friends who moved away a few years ago
when did they learn to pose like this? Seriously....
Green all around, good food, humidity, family, friends.....great trip.
